Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electrical and Electronics Engineering concerns the science and technology related to generating, distributing and consuming electrical energy for the benefit of mankind. Our future responsibility is to achieve this in a safe, sustainable and cost effective way. Electrical Engineers develop, test and supervise the manufacture of Electrical equipment. Some of this equipment includes electric motors, machinery controls, lighting and wiring in building, radar and navigation systems, communication systems, power generation, control and transmission devices used by electric utilities.

The course is beneficial to equip them with adequate knowledge and skills in the field of electrical and electronics engineering to make them readily employable in industries. Engage them in research activities to become successful entrepreneurs. The course will prepare you to be a competent and a much sought-after technologist and give you the opportunities to participate in the creation of new and vital technologies which are antidotes to most problems in future. Candidates improve their knowledge and skill by pursuing higher studies in the field of advanced technology and meet the needs of the society.

Why to choose Civil Engineer?

The first priority among the different branch of engineering is given to the civil engineering. All other branches are derived from the civil engineering. It is an old and has an ever ending scope. The work of other branches starts only with the suitable infrastructure building. Its scope is vast and has good opportunities in all fields. Such as Construction field, Geological department, Railway department, Transportation department, in banks as a chartered and valuer engineers (penal engineers). It splits into different divisions of work i.e. field work, Office work, design work, estimation and costing departments. Students may choose any of the divisions of their choice.

A country is said to be advanced and developed one, only when there is a attractive infrastructure, good transportation facilities. Hence all countries are marching towards the development of infrastructure and transportation facilities. Hence civil engineering gains the first priority.

Finally it is concluded that the civil engineering is the branch which is evergreen and fulfills the major requirements of people and for the society in concern.

Diploma in Civil Engineering is a course of 6 Semesters at duration of 3 years. In first two semesters student will learn 6 subjects each including theory and practicals. In later course from 3rd to 6th, each semester includes 7 to 8 core subjects including practical.

In first year (1st and 2nd Semester) the students get thorough knowledge of construction materials, get basic knowledge of surveying, Science, Engineering Mathematics, English, Engineering Drawing, Applied Science and computer applications.

In second and third year 3rd Semester onwards they study the Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Advances in Construction technology, Plannning & designing of Buildings, Bridges, Dams, transportation, Irrigation systems, Testing of Soil & Materials, thorough knowldege in Hydraulics, environment, Water Resouce Management, Sanitary Management. And more over they study the design of Steel and Masonary structures, Town planning etc

Along with core subjects Professional Ethics & Industrial Management is included in curriculum to guide one how to behave and perform duties Ethically knowing all managerial skills in industry as well as society.

Without knowing actual industrial aspects and experience a Diploma program won't be complete. So 52 hours of In-plant training is provided. And one has to do his own Project work so as to bring out his talents and enhance their qualities.

How to become a Civil Engineer?

It finds the application in Municipalities, D C office, Rural and Public development board, Water supply board etc.

In accordance to the above given information, Civil engineering branch gives more importance to the interaction of many people with the chooser. So, the students get more knowledge about the communication with all field personnel.

Finally civil engineering is a branch which penetrates into a depth and it has a wide range of applications in all fields. All other branches depended on civil in all aspects.

Its scope is vast and plays a vital role in the development of society and environment. Due to this the placement opportunities is everywhere in the same stream or in the other too.

Higer Studies

In Karnataka after completing Diploma there is 10% reservation for each course to get lateral entry to engineering. So after 3 years of diploma they can join directly to 2nd year (3rd Semester) of Engineering.

On completion of Diploma in Civil Engineering they have to apply for D-CET and get qualified for Lateral Entry in Engineering Colleges
